Pawesome Ways Pets Change Our Lives

Change A Pet’s Life Day is coming up on January 24th. This is a cause we’re happy to celebrate. We love seeing pets going to wonderful, loving homes. Of course, pets can have a pretty drastic effect on our lives as well. In fact, bringing a new furry pal into your home can bring about some pretty surprising—and wonderful—changes. An Aurora, CO vet lists some of the ways Fido and Fluffy affect our lives below.

Welcoming Committee

Pets brighten up our lives in many ways. One of the cutest is the way they are always happy to see you when you get home.

Furbusting

Once Fido and Fluffy come into your home, well, so does their fur. You may have a bit of extra cleaning and vacuuming to do. (Tip: use a rubber dish glove or squeegee to remove pet fur from furniture and upholstery.) Those purrs and tail wags are well worth it!

Smiles

One great thing about our furry friends? They really do keep us entertained! Watching Fluffy chasing after a catnip mouse, or seeing Fido jump for joy at the thought of a walk can definitely put a smile on your face.

Health Benefits

You’ve likely heard the saying about how laughter is the best medicine. However, comedic entertainment isn’t the only way pets are good for us. Studies have shown that pets are beneficial in many different ways. For instance, people with dogs tend to be thinner than those who don’t have canine pals, likely because of all those walks. As for Fluffy, she has a very calming, soothing effect on us, which can be very helpful for people battling anxiety, depression, and other issues. Pets are also great for kids! They teach our little ones about kindness, empathy, and love, and make great cuddle buddies.

Companionship

Fido and Fluffy can be wonderful sources of comfort and companionship in hard times. It’s nice to know there is someone there who will always be on your side, and will stick with you through all of life’s ups and downs.

Love

We form very strong and beautiful bonds with our animal companions. Unconditional love can be rare these days, and it’s a truly beautiful gift. Pets really do turn our houses into homes!
